"When I started in the mid-nineties, I was fascinated by the things that don't belong where they are. The image that makes you look twice and then laugh — or think — or both. Most of these photographs came from home, where the unexpected has to be created. The I-Toast series was also made at home during the 2020 lockdowns, when the street disappeared and I turned my attention again to everyday objects. I still prefer the street. It's less lonely."
